Dr. McCarthy is thrilled to have been a part of this work led by GSU Educational Psychology PhD student, Amanda Dahl.
In this work, middle school students thought-aloud about two science texts that were relatively matched for readability. A closer look at the text features and student think-alouds suggest that researchers and educators should go beyond simple readability metrics to explore how different features of text influence processing and comprehension.
