New Pub Alert!: "iSTART StairStepper: Using comprehension strategy training to game the test"

Now available open-access in Computers!

This manuscript details the development and testing of StairStepper, a game-based module with the Interactive Strategy Training for Active Reading and Thinking (iSTART). In StairStepper, students get a chance to practice self-explaining while engaging in reading comprehension test prep. These initial findings suggest that students, especially those who struggle with reading comprehension, found StairStepper practice to be enjoyable and helpful.
